The Ellesmere Port Family and Local History exists to preserve and promote the history of Ellesmere Port. It is run wholly by volunteers and has produced many local history books which are sold in the CRT shop. Since 2011 the Society has held monthly meetings at the Ellesmere Port National Waterways Museum (“NWM”) and has frequently presented talks based around the history and current work of the CRT & the Boat Museum.
The Society has also published a number of books each dealing with an area or aspect of the town’s history.
